UPJ Computer Facilities

UPJ Computer Science students utilize the most current computing technology available in their coursework.  The Computer Science Lab contains many types of computers including Intel x86, Sparc, Silicon Graphics, and Macintosh running operating systems including Windows2000, Linux, Irix, and MacOS.  Any of these computers can be used by students for coursework, independent software development, or general purpose computing.  In addition to these workstations, the department maintains two servers.  One of these servers runs Windows 2000 Server and can be used by students for website development. This server is also used to host several websites for on-campus organizations.  The second server runs Linux and is used for software development using C, C++, Ada95, Java and other languages.  As a service to the university, the Computer Science Department hosts several campus web pages.
