Intended as an introduction to linear algebra.  Stresses the computational methods of linear algebra and covers the theoretical development of matrix algebra and vector spaces as well.  Topics of the course include systems of linear equations, matrices, matrix algebra, determinants, vector spaces, linear dependence and independence, spanning sets of vectors, bases, orthogonality, inner product spaces, Gram-Schmidt process, Eigen values, Eigen vectors, the characteristic equation, and diagonalization.  Other topics may be covered as time permits.  Course is suitable for mathematics majors, joint mathematics majors, statistics majors, and others interested in a theoretical treatment.  Prerequisites: 0241, and 1012 or CS0406.
